The website itself is difficult to navigate but does contain a small free-to-all educational area with distance learning modules available to download. There is also some information on available training courses.

The European Association of Echocardiography website provides european accreditation and a clinical case portal containing images, videos and case vinettes. The free educational area of the website also provides links to power-point presentations available for download. There is also information available on echocardiography courses available europe-wide.

Intersocietal Commision For The Accreditation of Echocardiography Laboratories (ICAEL)

ICAEL sets standards for labs and technicians in the US to comply to. Once all requirements have been met, the lab or technician will receive ICAEL certification. A lab that has received the certification may also receive higher reimbursement from insurance companies such as Medicare.

National Board of Echocardiography

The National Board of Echocardiography offers US-based personal accreditation in echocardiography and subspecialties.

Australian Sonographer Accreditation Registry (ASAR)

It is a requirement of the Australian Health Insurance Commission (HIC) that all Echocardiography Sonographers are registered with the Australasian Sonographers Accreditation Registry. To accredit you require a diploma in medical ultrasound or alternately you must be registered on an approved course.
